Murat Even

I was born in Istanbul (Turkey) in 1966 and my family moved to Switzerland in 1979.

I graduated from the law faculty of the University of Zurich in 1992 with magna cum laude.

I began my legal career in 1993 by accepting a one-year project assignment with the Winterthur Insurances Company (nowadays AXA Winterthur). With an in-house real estate expert of Winterthur Insurances I was responsible for the disinvestment of a few dozen real estate exposures of Winterthur Insurances, either through sale, settlement or foreclosure.

When this project ended I returned to the University of Zurich as an academic assistant at the Center for International Private Law. For the next three years I was involved in research and publications in the fields of family law and conflicts of laws, and I assisted in the teaching and examining of law students.

In 1997, I joined one of the leading law firms in Switzerland, founded in Zurich in 1966 and with around 90 lawyers and with offices in Zurich, Geneva, Lausanne and Zug, and foreign offices in both Madrid and London.
My cases included handling complex commercial contracts, commercial disputes, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, distribution, and international law.

After being an equity partner in this law firm for eight years and in view of the continuing growth of this firm, in January 2015, I started my own solo legal practice to keep the personal touch, which I believe is crucial for any attorney-client relationship.

My working languages are German, English and Turkish.
